Public Meeting Outcomes
Even with bond financing, the county’s transportation needs are likely to exceed its financial resources. If all of the candidate projects cannot be funded under this bond package, the BAC wants to be sure that it make the absolute best use of the available financial resources by selecting the projects that are most critically needed. To gather public input on these questions, the Commissioners Court and BAC hosted four public involvement meetings during the month of July. Meetings were held:
- In Precinct 3 on THURSDAY, JULY24, at the Wimberley Activity Center
- In Precinct 2 on MONDAY, JULY28 at Barton Middle School
- In Precinct 4 on WEDNESDAY, JULY30, at the Dripping Springs City Hall, and
- In Precinct 1 on THURSDAY, JULY31, at the San Marcos Activity Center.
Meeting participants were then also asked to use the eight criteria to score the candidate projects in their precinct, as well as any additional projects with which they were familiar, in terms of how well each project addressed the evaluation criteria. The summary results of these candidate project evaluations is contained in the PDF document Hays County BAC Public Meeting Participant SCORING SHEET DATA - COMBINED.pdf
Although the public meetings are complete, public participation is still ongoing. You are encouraged to review the various documents and submit comments or questions using the following email address: info@hayscountybac.org
